Results Seven to smoke battle 28th of August 2010
Despite the mixed weather conditions, we successfully came thru this years Seven-to-Smoke-battle in front of Copenhagen’s town-hall once again. Thanks to all participants and partners involved.

StreetMekka’nizm [update]
Thank you very much to all the participants and the great audience showing up and being active at both workshops and the break battles at this year’s Kulturhavn (cultural harbour) at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. The winners Moore (Octagon Crew, Gøteborg) and Mingster (De La Kings, Malmø) both came out with a tuff and intense competition, where the dance tent was packed to the max and the audience queued outside to get a glimpse of what was going on inside. Also we’d like to thank our partners from Gam3, Flowdance Academy and Street Movement, who shared the Street-area with us and, of course, the municipality of Copenhagen for this event.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel Sunday’s workshop because of heavy rain. We didn’t have the option to move inside, as the dance tent was booked up already. We hope that this didn’t cause any inconvenience for those of you who would have liked to learn some of what you saw the night before. StreetMekka is going to open up for the public the 16th of October, where Breakpoint will be offering training in both break and popping, so we are looking forward to welcoming you at our new spot.

StreetMekka to open in October
Finally the long awaiten date for opening our new HQ, StreetMekka is set: the 16th of October is the official date. StreetMekka is not only going to be our new HQ but also Breakpoint is going to offer workshops and training from professionals in bboying and popping/electro boogie and will also provide the opportunity for open practice. StreetMekka will thus become the new meeting point in the break community. We are going to have events there as well in collaboration with the other associations within StreetMekka, which also includes basketball, parkour /free-running, Hiphop, street-dance and DJing apart from break, of course. We are looking forward to welcoming you in the future at our new spot.
You can get an impression of what’s going to happen within StreetMekka this weekend at the cultural harbour festival in the street area and dance scene. Check our Calendar for further information.

New event added: Street Mekka’nism
Breakpoint will arrange a b-boy battle, workshops and open practise session at the event Streetmekka’nism at Kulturhavn 2010. Street Mekka’nism is a three-day event marking the opening of Street Mekka, the new venue for street-culture in Copenhagen. Other activities in addition to b-boying and popping are street basketball, parkour, DJing, MCing and Hiphop dancing. For further info about Street Mekka check out www.streetmekka.dk

Marry Christmas and a happy new Year!
Breakpoint wish all of you and your a marry christmas and a happy new year! Thank you to all of you who attended our events, helped out in one way or the other or contributed to it. It was a pleasure and we are looking forward to the new year with exciting things to come from us.
Earlier in december we launched the new Floor Wars website, which you are more then welcome to check out. It’s still partly under construction, but feel free to give us feedback if you have some ideas of what we could do better. Same goes of course also for the Breakpoint website, which will have a facelift in the beginning of the new year.
